Being on Deviant art, one is going to come across these uh... lovely characters. Oc's that are often paired with one or more of the popular Canon characters from movies, anime or manga.

I loathe them with a passion.

It's one thing to jokingly fiddle around with the concept when you're in your tweens and your teens. But usually you keep that little fantasy to yourself.
On here, this stuff is everywhere.

Now, I have no problem with het, yuri or yaoi pairings in the fandoms. I think the many pairings are pretty neat (despite the huge angry quarrels over who's 'right' and who's 'wrong' ), but when you start dragging in characters that were never there in the first place it gets irritating. At least with the canon character pairings, they were IN the original material.

The saddest thing I've seen is actually BEAUTIFULLY designed characters that are mary sues/ paired with a character from the source material. Why would you waste such a lovely character design on a fanfiction? Why? It's a terrible waste.

I'll probably get yelled at over this, but what the hell.

Please keep your fandom Oc's paired with other fandom Oc's of your own/ your friend's making/ rp partner's making. At least then it's not so painfully obvious self insert fap material.
